"By the end of the second day, everything was normal. Your mind will adjust."
I first realized something was wrong with my hearing when I held my phone to my left ear and could barely hear voices. I spent time and money on various treatments to try and restore my sudden hearing loss, but eventually, I had to accept that I would need hearing aids. My biggest concern before reaching out was how much my hearing would actually improve.
When I first visited Encore Hearing Care, I felt I was among knowledgeable professionals I could trust. Since getting hearing aids, there have been some adjustments—I'm an active cyclist, so I had to get used to occasional wind noise, and in yoga, certain poses can cause the battery pack to fall out and hang from my ear. It's awkward but manageable.
For anyone considering hearing aids, I’d say your mind will adjust quickly. When I first got mine, I started my car and was startled by how loud the A/C was. By the end of the second day, everything sounded normal again. My favorite part of working with Encore Hearing Care was learning how hearing aids work and why sudden hearing loss, like mine, happens.
