The holiday season makes for great memories. There’s family, food, fun, festive gatherings – and at Encore Hearing, we want you to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the holiday. Of all the times during the year, this is the time to stay the most connected to those around you and those you care about. Enjoy the season and the seasonal offerings in the area. We’ve picked out some favorites for you.

Wonderland at One Daytona

Dec. 4, 11, 18
One Daytona
Enjoy live reindeer, elves, strolling Dickens’ carolers and a holiday art station. Also, at One Daytona free holiday jazz music on Dec. 15 and Dec. 22 and Sunday Snowdays on Dec. 2, Dec. 9, Dec. 16 and Dec. 23. Snowdays include the snow zone with a dual lane snow slide, interactive DJ, Polar Express Train, stiltwalkers making balloon art and much more. On Dec. 23 there will be a special visit from the Grinch and the Whos from Whoville.

Christmas in the Country

Fridays and Saturday, Dec. 1 – Dec. 22
River of Life Church Deltona
Lights displays, hay rides, festive decorations and who can resist roasting marshmallows over a bonfire? Sip hot cocoa next to the giant Christmas Tree, get your picture taken with Santa and listen to holiday tales in the Story Barn. Ceramic Christmas village display, nativity display collection and a live band.

Snow & Glow Christmas Show

Dec. 7 and 8
Tomoka Farms Road, New Smyma Beach
Featuring special balloons like Yellow Bird, Snow Man, Tom Cat, Terry Mouse, Puddy Cat, Rocket the Flying Squirrel and more. More than 100 Christmas craft vendors, festival food and Santa Claus on site. There will be snow! And, don’t miss the lit-up hot air balloons at dusk.

A Gift of Carols

Dec. 7 and 8
Ormand Beach Performing Arts Center
Providence Church invites everyone to celebrate the season with them at this popular Christmas concert. If dance is more your interest, on Dec. 15 at the OBPAC, South Beach Dance Academy presents their 2018 Holiday Showcase. Students of all ages perform dance numbers to the sounds of the holidays. Join Just 4 U Productions at the arts center on Dec. 16 for A Musical Christmas on Broadway.  A talented multigenerational cast of children and adults will perform beloved Christmas songs from Broadway musicals. On Dec. 20 enjoy the play “Sleigh.” This comedy involves a young couple spending their first Christmas together with some very different expectations as well as a pair of rival shopkeepers competing for customers and three postal carriers determined to make their deliveries.

Mistletoe and Music

Dec. 8
Earl Brown Park, Deland
The theme for this year’s free concert in the park is “Florida Christmas” with the Landsharks Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band. Food trucks will surround the park and vendors will be set up near the amphitheater lawn.  Hawaiian shirts optional.

The Nutcracker

Dec. 8 and 9
The Peabody
Presented by the Civic Ballet of Volusia County, this charming tale involves Clara meeting up with the Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Rat King and assorted other characters. Saturday’s performance includes a separate admission Uncle Drosselmeyer’s reception and dinner with a silent auction, live music and special appearances by Nutcracker characters. Sunday’s performance includes a separate admission event also, the Children’s Sugar Plum Tea Party.

A Christmas Carol

Dec. 9
The Hub on Canal, New Smyma Beach
Charles Dicken’s tale as you’ve never seen it with David McElroy playing all 37 characters in this Christmas classic. McElroy’s one-man show involves the audience as it moves along.

Holiday Winter Wonderland Skatetacular

Dec. 15
Daytona Ice Arena
Join in the ugliest sweater contest, get a photo with Santa and skate to the greatest Christmas hits with a DJ. There will be face painting, a candy cane limbo event, figure skating presentation and real snow!

It’s a Wonderful Life

Dec. 14, 15 and 16
Daytona Playhouse
Celebrate the holiday season with this beloved classic. It’s a Wonderful Life is the heartwarming story of how George, with the help of his guardian angel, discovers the million different ways simply helping those around us makes things better for everyone and ties us all together. This is presented as a 1940s radio broadcast with sound effects performed live on stage.

TY5’s Old Fashioned Family Christmas

Dec. 13, 14, 15
Thank You Five, Port Orange
All new for 2018, this production is chock full of holiday favorites. The show includes sing-alongs to your favorite carols with live musical accompaniment in the style of 60s and 70s variety shows as well as holiday-themed comedy skits. Meet Santa before the show and every child gets a gift.
